I was by far the most fortunate of all the day Organisers, with much of the preparatory work done by Matthew Owen on Day 1, a full dress rehearsal on Day 1, and the only dry day of the competition.
The various Kenfig authorities and landowners have already been thanked by Matthew, and I add my own gratitude for their help and support. I am not aware of any problems that anyone had, other than perhaps finding their way to the near start! A lesson learned - don't make people map read until after they have punched the start.
The principal reason that the day went so well was the unstinting help given to me and to NGOC by so many orienteers from other clubs. We had as many non-NGOC helpers as we were able to raise ourselves, from BOK, DVO, GRAMP, INT, KERNO, NOC, SARUM, SLOW, TVOC, UBOC, URINGA and WSX. The club and I are immensely grateful to all of these volunteers for their contributions to our event.
