Croeso2016
2016

Competitor feedback has been very positive!

Our group from Mikkeli, Finland enjoyed the days in Wales. It was very nice that you had chosen so different terrains. We got a good glimpse of orienteering in your great island. People are so friendly, everything just works just fine etc. The views were astonishing in the Wales countryside, as well as in some terrains as well - especially my favourite Mynydd Llyngynydr.

Thank you all who helped at Croeso 2016. I’ve just arrived home so my thanks are a bit late but still sincere. You must all be exhausted!

We would like to thank you for a happy week. For us all went smoothly and we particularly appreciated the shortness but technical nature of courses 10/11. We were able to get round without being over challenged. Not easy to plan for our age group. Thanks to everybody for their hard work.

Congratulations on staging a superb five days of orienteering – many thanks to everyone involved. Very well worth the trip from Denmark. The organisation was excellent throughout and we ran some very well planned courses on an interesting variety of areas. Already looking forward to next time! The Margam Discovery Centre also proved ideal as an accommodation centre – once we had found a way in!

Many many thanks to everyone involved in Croeso . It was our first multi day event. The organisation was great, and the children loved the string courses.

Just a short note to say many thanks to everyone for a fabulous few days of orienteering - the organisation was superb and we appreciated how child friendly it was.
Next Croeso we should be in a position to help out a bit more!!
Feel free to use the photo!!

Just to say Thank You to all involved, our family had a great time at Croeso, went out on challenging courses, got soaked, got sunburnt (on day 5 - we burn easily!) and really enjoyed our time in South Wales.

Just a note to thank you for your help with our car parking - everyone was so helpful. Also for the special 'Most determined orienteer' award at the prize-giving - my wife was so thrilled to have done all 5 days and then to get a special mention! We all really enjoyed the event.

Many thanks for a great 5 days, just a shame I left my tiny brain back home in Sussex!  Thanks for using 1:10,000 for all the days, the maps were very good and the weather was interesting.

This is to send a big thank you to you and all the clubs involved in creating a lovely week of orienteering. All four of us really enjoyed the week, and the opportunity to see the variety of areas available for such an event. We were initially attracted by the offer of 2 days in sand dunes and we were not disappointed by Kenfig – a remarkable area with plenty of challenges for the competitors: the variety provided by the other days added to the pleasure from the event.
We did have a couple of down sides: one was the M4 around Port Talbot which seemed perpetually congested and the other was the weather: we worked out that with poor luck around start times (late on Day 3 and 10:00 on Day 5) it was possible to have been well rained on in 4 of the 5 days – I will leave you to guess when our start times were on those two days. Neither issue was within your control.
We have returned north with a pile of very wet clothes but happy after an excellent week, and also looking to remember some of the nice touches around the organisation and delivery of each day.

I really enjoyed my runs at Croeso. Thanks very much for all you did to make it such a good series of events.

Just a short note to say many thanks to everyone for a fabulous few days of orienteering - the organisation was superb and we appreciated how child friendly it was.

Thanks very much for running a very well organised event this y ear. Every day seemed to flow extremely well in all respects. The only negative comment I and many others had was the lack of any event merchandise such as t-shirts or mugs etc. If items become available retrospectively will you be sending out a mailshot?

Just a quick note to thank everyone involved for Croeso '16. Although I was only able to attend days 1, 2, 4 and 5, I thoroughly enjoyed them and the event as a whole which was very well organised and executed. Good terrain, good courses, friendly people - just the job.

I just wanted to say a big thank you to everyone involved in the Croeso week. I could only make it for the first 3 days, and was very sad to have to leave before the last 2 events.

I thoroughly enjoyed the orienteering - I had good courses on good terrain with good quality maps. Even more impressive was the organisation: the entire thing seemed effortless and to run like clockwork from my perspective. I even changed my entry at the last minute, one day before the deadline for online changes and, like everything else, this 'just worked' with no fuss. I'm sure the approach taken to the organisation contributed to the friendly and relaxed atmosphere which permeated the event.
I'm sure this success is the result of a lot of hard work behind the scenes, so I can only say thank you.
Looking forward to the next Croeso already!

A great mix of area- thanks to mappers, surveyors and planners.# People I spoke to would like to come back again to test themselves on the same areas and maybe better their performances. Many will have changed age groups and in any case courses would be different. It's an extra challenge to try to do better than you did last time.
Is every two years a possibility????
Thanks to all the helpers- always cheerful and friendly despite the weather.
Well done!!!!!

Firstly I would like to say how much we all enjoyed Croeso. Each of the days were well organised and the helpers were all really friendly.

Just dropping a line to say many thanks to all involved in Croeso 2016. We had a great week in Wales in some lovely dunes, forests and moorland and most of the mud from Friday has now been washed off! Even Thursday's weather didn't spoil the fun (my best run...)
All of your (plural) hard work was much appreciated.

Many many thanks to all involved for another splendid Croeso.
Lots of logistic problems overcome and meticulous planning evident.
You are a hardy lot.
Well done!

I guess I'm at the rear of a long queue of people wanting to tell you how much I enjoyed Croeso 16. I've just got home after a brief rest and feel the need to thank you - and probably many others - for organising this excellent event.
I've not missed many Welsh multi days since 1988 - and this one is up there with the best of them, indeed all multi days! What gems you have with Kenfig, Llangynidr and Margam.
Thanks so much for a most enjoyable week.
Rain? What rain? Those were Welsh photons.

... your message gives us the opportunity to congratulate the two of you and your team for a fantastic 5-day event in S Wales. Superbly planned and organised - all our cottage friends had a great time Well done and thank you all.

This is a big thank you for the excellent week of orienteering in Wales. It was really good and we had lots of fun despite the creaking muscles. Please pass on our thanks to all your teams for each day for a job really well done. It must have seemed very hard work at times but you looked pretty cool. Brilliant.

I would like to say how much we all enjoyed Croeso. Each of the days were well organised and the helpers were all really friendly.

Just to say how much I enjoyed Croeso 2016. A very big thank you to all the organisers and planners. I think you did an excellent job and the whole event was very well co-ordinated. I enjoyed some areas more than others but that's all part of the fun of orienteering. In addition I really appreciated having a well produced handbook which is something that you no longer get at the Scottish 6 days

An enormous thank you to yourself and everyone who organised or helped at this years event. I know that this has been said many times over the years, but it really would not be possible to hold these events was it not for the dedication of all the volunteers, the pleasure that they create to so many individuals and families is overwhelming, a massive thank you to all.
