Day 6 - Aberystwyth (Urban) on Saturday 28th July

Travel and Parking: People staying on the Campsite or University Penglais Campus should leave vehicles in their overnight locations. Please walk to the Assembly field. Allow 15 minutes for the walk.

For other people, the main car park is Car Park X, at the Aberystwyth University Llanbadarn campus (grid ref: SN603812) and will be signed from the A44/A4159 island to the East of Aberystwyth. The car parking will be self help and un-supervised. Please park economically.

There is NO PARKING for non-residents on the Campsite or Penglais campsite. Allow 25 minutes for the 1.1 km from Car Park X to Assembly.

Follow signs to reach the Assembly field, and from there to reach starts. The routes will be on pavements or hard standing.

Assembly: The Assembly field is flat and will have toilets and traders parked adjoining the field. Club tents will be allowed on the field but securing pegs are not to be used due to underground piping. A marquee will be provided for changing, storing clothes, and as a shelter.

There will be no food caterers on Day 6; please use the University facilities.

Start: The Red start will be 10-15 minute walk from the Assembly field, mostly downhill with a climb of 50 m at the end, all on pavements. Please respect the local residents while waiting for your start.

The Blue Start will be a 5 minute walk from the Assembly field.

Terrain: Hugely varied terrain - university campus, woodland, irregular streets and parkland.

Safety Information: The route to the Red start crosses the A487 main road at suggested crossing points. It will be the competitor’s responsibility to ensure it is safe to cross.

The "which feature" entry into column C of the control descriptions sheet has not been used at all.

The route to the Assembly field and from the field to the start passes through the competition area so please ensure you follow the marked routes and marshals’ instructions.

The event will also host a UK Masters Cup race.

Dogs are not allowed on the University Campus at any time, either the main Penglais Campus or the Llanbadarn Campus where Car Park X is situated. A car park for dog owners ONLY can be found as follows:

Leaving the area: From the University Penglais (main) Campus entrance, travel northeastwards on the A487 for 450 metres, to the top of the hill. Turn left on the B4572, towards Clarach. Travel for 150 metres and turn right.
